Herniated Disc Treatment: Top 3 Chiropractic Techniques

What makes multiple impulse therapy unique—fast, gentle treatment based in science and technology—also makes it an ideal treatment for delicate conditions such as herniated discs.
Like many other musculoskeletal conditions, surgery is a last resort. And while herniated discs can sometimes heal themselves overtime, when a patient is experiencing the pain and extremity discomfort of a herniated disc, its important that Chiropractors have a go-to treatment to help relieve a patient’s pain. Here is what PulStar has to offer, which may not necessarily be available with other treatments:

1. Specific Analysis – The Analysis mode of the PulStar can be used to help indicate the potential location of a herniation when used with other findings such as MRI, whether it be lumbosacral, cervical, or even thoracic and will display the information on the computer screen in a way that is easy for both the Chiropractor and the patient to understand. Then, with gentle impulses of the PulStar, a patient’s spine is free to move to help resolve the symptoms of the herniation.

2. Standing Patient Positioning System – While some patients may not even know that they have a herniated disc, others are in immense pain and discomfort, making it difficult for them to climb up onto a table for treatment. With the PulStar, each of our units can be equipped with a patient treatment stand, which allows a patient to remain upright while receiving multiple impulse therapy. Our latest model even comes with a small display so that patients can watch their treatment as illustrated through the PulStar software.

3. Myofascial & Point Modes –  These two very special adjusting modes make the PulStar the perfect instrument for treating herniated discs. Both of these modes use high-speed impulses from 30 – 90 impulses per second to add the movement that the disc needs to allow the healing process to start and the herniated disc to pull back into the joint relieving the pressure on the nerves.
